I started my academic training with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering at the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia. By the middle of this program, I became even more aware of my true calling, and after fulfilling all the requirements for the special double career/degree program offered by this university, I pursued at the same time a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.
Each degree provided me with completely different skills, analytical and human. When combined, these skills generate a unique and complete combination and approach that enable me to help others understand and effectively solve any situation in diverse scenarios and from different perspectives. After graduating, I worked as a professional engineer for a few years at the Central Bank of Colombia (Banco de la Republica). However, knowing and strongly feeling psychology was my passion, I decided to take the path of clinical psychology by earning a Master's degree in Health Psychology, along with all the requirements from the Master's in Counseling program to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) from Texas State University. I have held this license since 2006, and became an LPC-Supervisor in 2008. I have been supervising LPC- Interns since that time. After working closely with neglected and abused children and their families at different settings and from different positions for almost 5 years, I decided to move into private practice. In October of 2019, I obtained my certification as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT), and I am currently working on neurolinguistic training. |
I follow a holistic approach where mind, body, and spirit are interconnected; as a result, the individual is seen as a whole and each treatment is individually designed to address each person’s specific needs. |

"Do not compare, do not measure. No other way is like yours. All other ways deceive and tempt you. You must fulfill the way that is in you."
